A chance to fast-track your innovation is being offered to UK Small and Micro businesses by the Technology Strategy Board who is investing up to £2 million in R&D grants for technology feasibility studies in five focus themes:
• Advanced Materials• Nanoscale Technologies
• Biosciences
• Electronics, Photonics & Electrical Systems
• Information & Communications Technology
Up to £25,000 of funding towards 75% of the costs of a technical feasibility study is available. Projects may be collaborative or carried out by a single company but must be led and undertaken by small or micro companies (50 employees or less and less than €2 Million turnover).
Applicants need to move fast as the competition opens on 12th March and closes barely one month later at noon on 11th April 2012. That’s challenging for anybody.
Don’t forget though, R&D grants of up to £100,000 towards 60% of costs for a Proof-of-Concept feasibility study are still available via the normal SMART grant awards. So if the timescale is too tight or the grant amount too small, you can still apply for a SMART award any time.
